We are seeking a skilled and adaptable Product Manager to lead the development and optimisation of internal tools and systems for the Communications and Engagement Division. In this role, you will spearhead digital solutions to improve efficiency, productivity, and collaboration across the Ministry. Besides conceptualising and developing these tools, you will also champion them to encourage greater adoption of these tools.

What the role is
What you will be working on
• Build compelling cases for transformative products, by understanding existing work processes, gathering business requirements and conducting market/user research.
• Define and execute the product strategy for new internal tools and systems for the Division, aligning with strategic outcomes of the Ministry.
• Manage the entire product lifecycle, from conception to launch and beyond with product roadmaps and product backlog management.
• Collaborate, coordinate, and liaise with Business, Research, and IT teams. Analyse existing data and systems to inform product decisions.
• Prioritise and address critical issues faced by users.
• Track the usage and performance of product and workflows to ensure they meet the desired objectives.
• Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies relevant to internal systems, to ensure tools and business practices are competitive with industry norms.
What we are looking for
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in product management, preferably with a focus on internal tools or enterprise software.
• Candidates with more experience will be considered for a more senior role.
• Strong understanding of software development processes and methodologies.
• Self-starter, with strong project management and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into simpler terms for non-technical stakeholders.
• Excellent prioritisation and time management skills.
• Able to adapt product management practices to work within a restricted environment with limited access to conventional tools. Data-driven and user-centric mindset.
Good to Have:
• Knowledge of AI technologies and their potential applications in internal tools.
• Experience working in high-security or classified environments and/or familiarity with Government IT security and data protection practices.
• Experience or strong understanding of Communications work and practices, including media and social media platforms and analytics, commonly used social media APIs, and social listening strategies.
• Experience with the Databricks platform.
