What the role is

The Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) is a statutory board under the Ministry of National Development (MND). As the custodian of Singapore’s built heritage, URA is responsible for recommending buildings for conservation, regulating restoration projects, and the planning and management of heritage districts. We also promote awareness of our built heritage and best practices in restoration and management of the buildings. Through our built heritage, we aim to connect the past, present and future generations of Singaporeans. As a Planner in the Conservation Management Department, you will be part of the team to support the creation, digitalization, presentation and management of data on Singapore’s conservation areas and buildings. The successful candidate will be offered a 1 year contract

What you will be working on

You will work closely to support our architects and planners. Your responsibilities will include: - a. Improving and managing a system (URA On-line, URA Space/URA Conservation Portal) to present updated information. b. Review and enhance the functionality, UI & UX of the Conservation Portal for different audience sectors. c. Search, retrieve, extract, analyse, digitise and/or data entry of archival records. d. Produce updated written, photographic and archival records for conservation areas and buildings. e. Filing and organising documents in appropriate manner. f. Reporting and liaising with supervisor(s) for progress tracking. g. Working and discussing in a team environment.

What we are looking for

a. Degree in Architectural History, Urban and Regional Planning, Geography, Sociology, Information Systems, Information Technology, Geospatial Information Technology or related fields. b. Interest in the conservation of built heritage, history and spoken proficiency in one of Singapore’s official languages would be an advantage. c. Strong research and writing ability, d. Ability to present information in a clear and attractive manner, e. Experience or knowledge and experience in website management is an advantage, such as using content management systems (e.g. Sitecore) to create and update webpages. f. Have adequate proficiency in Microsoft Suites software, especially Microsoft Excel. g. Good communication and interpersonal skills h. Ablility to think on the feet and be resourceful i. Ability to work independently as well as in a team j. Detail-oriented and organised.
