What the role is

You will serve as part of a team to deter, detect, and neutralise security threats in the digital domain, in order to provide a secure environment for MINDEF and the SAF to achieve mission success. You will be involved in activities that contribute to achieving mission success, such as cybersecurity operations, threat analysis and assessment, and capability development. If you have competencies in one or more of the following areas, or if you are highly motivated to develop these competencies, we will be keen to hear from you. Senior and entry-level positions are available.

What you will be working on

You will be working on digital forensic/incident response. You will also be working on binary/malware analysis, vulnerability assessment/penetration testing, data analysis/data engineering, infocomm technology infrastructure and networks, as well as programming for task automation and solving task-specific challenges.

What we are looking for

You should have a tertiary education in Infocomm Security, Computer Security, Computer Science, Computer/ Electrical Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent. You should be mission-driven, team-oriented and self-motivated. You should be penchant for problem-solving through the application of analytical thinking, systems thinking and critical thinking, and have a strong passion for technology. Possession of relevant certifications would be advantageous.

About Military Security Department

The Military Security Department (MSD)’s core business is in Counter Intelligence and internal security for MINDEF/SAF. MSD was formed in 1975 to counter the threats of espionage, subversion and sabotage against MINDEF/SAF. It began with two main entities, namely the Counter Intelligence Branch (CIB) and Field Security Branch (FSB). Over the years, the department has continued to evolve and our roles expanded in tandem with the changing security environment. Today, our roles also include Counter Terrorism and Cyber Security.
