You will be part of a team that is responsible for conducting technical investigation and technical security assessment to safeguard MINDEF/SAF.

You will employ relevant technologies and techniques to conduct technical investigation and provide sound technical assessment to uphold MINDEF/SAF’s security. You will need to keep up to date with the latest in security technology. You will also need to conduct research, development and operationalisation of new technologies to maintain the edge in core capabilities.

You must possess a tertiary qualification in engineering or a technical-related discipline, preferably in Electronics and Electrical Engineering. You should have an interest in field of security. You should be a critical-thinker who can think out of the box and enjoy problem-solving. You must be a team player who possess good communication and interpersonal skills, and can also work independently from time to time. You should be open-minded, eager to learn, and adaptable to changes. You should be resilient and self-motivated in the face of difficult challenges.

The Military Security Department (MSD)’s core business is in Counter Intelligence and internal security for MINDEF/SAF. MSD was formed in 1975 to counter the threats of espionage, subversion and sabotage against MINDEF/SAF. It began with two main entities, namely the Counter Intelligence Branch (CIB) and Field Security Branch (FSB). Over the years, the department has continued to evolve and our roles expanded in tandem with the changing security environment. Today, our roles also include Counter Terrorism and Cyber Security.
