The Smart Nation Group – Digital Government (SNDG), under the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) and administratively managed by the Ministry of Digital Development and Information (MDDI), plans and prioritizes key Smart Nation and digital government projects, raises the standards of Government ICT and services, builds long-term capabilities for the public sector, and promotes adoption and participation in digital and smart innovations. It takes a whole-of-nation effort, and we will actively engage the public, the industry and fellow agencies as we build a Smart Nation together. We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Senior Manager / Assistant Director to join our Technology and Capability Division. This pivotal role will be instrumental in shaping Singapore's digital future by strategising and implementing capability building initiatives across the Whole-of-Government in InfoComm Technology and Smart Systems (ICT&SS).

Key Responsibilities: • Develop and execute strategies to enhance ICT&SS capabilities across government agencies, propelling Singapore towards its next phase of digitalisation. • Collaborate closely with key Government digital agencies such as to identify, develop, and implement essential capabilities required for agency-wide digitalisation efforts. • Formulate and propose government policies that drive digital capability building within agencies, ensuring alignment with Singapore's Smart Nation vision. • Conduct regular assessments of current digital capabilities within the government and identify areas for improvement and growth. • Design and oversee the implementation of training programmes and initiatives to upskill government employees in relevant digital technologies. • Liaise and work closely with industry partners and academic institutions to stay abreast of emerging technologies and best practices in digital transformation. • Prepare and present reports, briefings, and recommendations to senior leadership on capability building progress and strategies.

Requirements: • Strong awareness of and curiosity about digital technologies, particularly those relevant to government operations and smart city initiatives. • Excellent writing skills with the ability to explain complex technical subjects to non-technical audiences, including policymakers and senior leadership. • Proven ability to develop strategic plans and successfully implement them, demonstrating both visionary thinking and practical execution skills. • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Information Systems, Public Policy, or Business Administration. • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across various government agencies and external partners. • Analytical mindset with the capacity to interpret data and trends to inform capability building strategies. • Adaptability and resilience in navigating the complex landscape of government digitalisation.
