What the role is

Career Advisor

What you will be working on

• Engage and assist RP Continuing Education and Training (CET) learners and graduates through RP’s career services and programmes.

• Assist students and graduates in preparing job applications, resumes, and cover letters.

• Provide one-on-one career coaching and advisory services, and job placement assistance to CET learners and graduates.

• Organise and conduct career, job placement and employment activities and events such as talks and workshops.

• Coordinate and manage job placement programmes and initiatives.

• Track and ensure accurate documentation and reporting of coaching cases, job placement outcomes and success rates. 

• Develop and maintain relationships with employers in each sector to facilitate job placements for CET students and graduates.

• Stay updated on job market trends and employer needs to provide relevant job placement support. Collaborate with stakeholders, including academic schools within RP, corporate offices, and industry partners, to plan and organise career fairs and events.

• Provide operations and administrative support to RP Career Centre.

• Provide support to the projects and programmes, including preparing and disseminating communication materials.

• Curation of resources and creation of content for job seeking graduates and adult learners.

What we are looking for

• At least 5 years of work experience with good industry knowledge, experience in education, or both.

• Ability to relate to all levels of jobseekers and working professionals, especially in guiding them on upskilling and career pathways.

• Familiarity with resume building, interview techniques and career development strategies.

• Prior knowledge and experience in career coaching and advisory services, and job placement would be an advantage.

• Knowledgeable about the job market outlook to provide simple labour market insights as part of career advisory.

• Ability to facilitate engaging workshops and effectively connect with a diverse group of stakeholders would be an advantage.

• Excellent collaborative, project management and time management skills.

• Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills (written and spoken).

• Flexible to accommodate adjusted work schedules, including evenings and weekends, when required to meet jobseekers’ needs if required.

• An open and positive mindset. You should also be encouraging, flexible, and culturally sensitive.

• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint tools.

• Proficient in data analytic tools like Power BI, Tableau would be an advantage.

• Hands-on experience in digital marketing and production of digital marketing materials and social media communications work would be an advantage.
