What the role is
Based at the Singapore Botanic Gardens (Research & Conservation branch), you will work closely with the Senior Researcher to curate and manage research living collections in the nursery and cool-houses (approx. 50% of the time). You will also work in the Herbarium to assist with specimens processing (approx. 50% of the time).

What you will be working on
Your duties in the research living collections in the nursery and cool-houses will involve maintaining the collections, obtaining dry and spirit specimens, as well as silica-dried materials. In the herbarium you will take microscopic images of specimens as the flower, database, label and sort incoming specimens.
You are expected to work independently and be able to grow and propagate plants, update databases (Microsoft Excel and Brahms).
What we are looking for
• Areas of study in Horticulture and/or Life/Environmental Sciences
• Ability to work outdoors on a daily basis; previous experience in plant nursery.
• Meticulous in dealing with scientific data as well as database/information management.
• Competent in using the Microsoft Office suite and Brahms.
• Good communication skills.
Only shortlisted candidates are notified. Successful candidate will be appointed on a 11-month employment contract.
