What the role is

The Strategic Planning team drives the planning, alignment, and monitoring of strategies and youth insights that guide the work of the National Youth Council towards its vision and mission. As Strategic Planners, we articulate our organisation's strategic directions, support the planning and alignment of key strategies across the organisation and with our stakeholders, and monitor the achievement of NYC’s objectives and outcomes. We also play a crucial role in monitoring, analysing, and understanding the youth landscape to identify gaps and opportunities for the organisation and support data-guided decisions. We are looking for a capable individual who is keen to join the team in our efforts to support NYC’s growth in our role as the national agency for youths.

What you will be working on

As Senior Manager/ Manager (Strategic Planning), your role will be to: • Work closely with Senior Management in strategic decision-making processes and support alignment between divisions, agencies, partners and key stakeholders • Support NYC Strategic Planning Cycle and individual divisions’ workplan development • Align, monitor, analyse and report organisation’s outputs and outcomes across divisions • Lead/ be involved in selected programme development and cross-functional work streams/ projects • Synthesise and sense-make youth data from various sources in a timely manner to deliver actionable insights that inform policies, programmes, engagements and partnerships for NYC and Whole-Of-Government

What we are looking for

• 3-5 years of experience in a strategy planning, policy planning or similar role (multi-lateral planning work with exposure to different business units) • Possess macro perspective of issues and meticulous with details • Sound thinking skills - Able to synthesise large amount of disparate information, assess opportunities and risks, and transform ambiguity into concrete insights and follow-up • Good communication skills - Sensitive to stakeholder dynamics, able to connect with others, ability to develop partnerships • Good project management skills, analytical, writing, visualisation and communication skills • Team-player who is also able to work well independently as needed • Able to adapt well and thrive in a dynamic environment
