The officer’s key role is to enhance operational effectiveness and efficiency, and user experience, through raising adoption of appropriate tech and AI tools, and contributing to the design of user-centric in-house products.
• The officer will represent MOM’s strategic business interests in tech-enablement initiatives, including by driving and supporting efforts to raise adoption of ready AI tools, understand and design user experiences relating to tech tools, collaborate with divisions on tech solutions and products, and other approaches to drive public sector innovation and transformation.
• In particular, the officer can expect to be part of in-house product teams, working closely with data analysts/scientists to gather and understand use cases, foster desirable user experiences, and engage potential users within or even outside of MOM, as part of efforts to develop AI products for use cases not covered by other ready whole-of-government, commercial, or MOM-specific solutions.

What you will be working on
• Drive and support tech-enablement across the ministry, including:
- Staying abreast of emerging trends and use cases in tech and AI, to identify opportunities for MOM to better leverage technology to support decision-making, raise operational efficiency and effectiveness, and improve workplace productivity and user experiences
- Working with representatives and users from MOM divisions/departments to raise adoption of suitable ready tech and AI tools
- Contributing to the development of effective in-house AI solutions, as part of the product team and contributing to desirable user experiences and engagement of users as part of continuous product improvement
• Develop MOM, inter-agency, and, where relevant, other professional networks, including engaging automation practitioners in other organisations, both within and outside of government, to share about MOM’s RPA initiatives, learn best practices and use cases, and benchmark MOM’s automation maturity
• Contribute to the development and implementation of digital transformation in MOM
What we are looking for
• Tertiary education in relevant disciplines such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Business Information Technology, User Interface/Experience Design, or any areas that can be applied to technology enablement
• Candidates with no prior working experience are welcome to apply
• Preferably have experience in:
- Interfacing between business users and IT teams
- Governance, and/or system development and implementation related work
- Using, or raising adoption of, ready tech and AI solutions from GovTech and Open Government Products
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Meticulous worker and good team player with a customer-focused mindset
• Able to multi-task, take initiative and work independently with multiple stakeholders
