You will be working on the Encyclopedia of Singapore Tamils (EST) project as a Tamil Language Intern under Collection Planning & Development divison.

What you will be working on

  • Assist TLS in a range of tasks ie; Encyclopedia of Singapore Tamils (EST) project, collection management, programme and services marketing, content creation and uploading, book displays.
  • Prepare marketing collaterals and oversee administration and logistics arrangements on distribution of publicity collaterals and tokens to identified locations / programmes and perform inventory control, when necessary.
  • Assist the team in conceptualising and developing programme content that promotes reading to guide partners who are keen to collaborate, and guide them to successful execution.
  • Oversee and manage emails for Encyclopedia of Singapore Tamils (EST) launch, replying to potential partners and following up on activities from conceptualisation through to execution. 
  • Monitor outcomes, gather and compile feedback on the programmes, collate statistics for programmes  and assist in report writing.
  • Managing and completing tasks such as marketing, enquiries, registartion, content management in these projects; Youth Reading Series, Encyclopedia of Singapore Tamils, Children Book Clubs.
  • Assist the team to manage programmes throughout the month of June to August.
  • Assist the project team to liaise and follow up with programme partners for both digital and physical programmes (within and outside the libraries).
  • Assist with regular children, teen and adult programmes for logistics preparation and onsite-support. 

What we are looking for

  • Background in Arts Courses, Tamil Literature related discipline preferred
  • Understanding and usage of Design programmes eg.Canva
  • Proficient in Tamil to work on the Encyclopedia of Singapore Tamils (EST) project.
