What the role is
What you will be working on
You will assist the Manager with the micropropagation of orchids for the National Orchid Garden including subculturing orchid cultures at different developmental stages and preparing culture media. You will also assist with:
Keeping an inventory of the Laboratory’s orchid cultures
Updating the Laboratory’s chemical inventory
Maintaining the cleanliness of laboratory
Any other duties required for optimal functioning of the Laboratory
What we are looking for
Areas of study in Biotechnology or Horticulture and Landscape Management, or any related disciplines
Have an inclination towards laboratory work that is repetitive and requires manual dexterity
Be able to work independently, but at the same time be a strong team player
Have basic Microsoft Office skills
Have a positive attitude towards working and learning in the workplace
Be meticulous, patient, able to work under pressure and meet targets
