The contract psychologist will be tasked with working on research projects aimed at looking into the trends and risk and protective factors related to forensic psychology research such as sexual offending, victimisation and deep fakes. The research efforts will help inform upstream prevention efforts to curb sexual offending and victimisation.
Key deliverables may include, but not limited to:
1. Assisting with the formulation, conduct and analysis of research and surveys on criminal offending, and related attitudes/ behaviours.
2. Conduct research and literature reviews to analyse emerging and ongoing trends and patterns in offending and victimisation

What the role is
What you will be working on
• Research Projects
o Formulate concept papers by reviewing both international and local literature on offending and victimisation.
o Formulate research projects and surveys for implementation
o Support procurement processes for research services
o Communicate research progress findings in written or oral presentation format to a variety of audience- e.g. formulate a research paper on the findings and presentation deck for presentations within MHA and external agencies
o Formulate data requests with sound rationale, seek relevant agencies’ inputs on the data required, analyse data/ conduct sense-making to understand the current trends on offending and victimatisaion
o To produce effective research products that caters to different audience type (e.g., infographics, brief reports, technical reports, PowerPoint slides, podcasts, etc)
o May also be required to embark on other research areas and methods (e.g., focus group discussions, face-to-face interviews, evaluation studies)
• Conduct Trainings/ Webinars/ Seminars
o Develop content based on research findings/ sense-making of current data
o Conduct trainings in the areas to stakeholders
o Assist to conceptualise and organise dialogue/ roundtable sessions stakeholders
o Design of surveys/ feedback forms for events/ trainings
• Others
o Support administrative work that is being undertaken by the Home Team Psychology Division
o Any other tasks as directed by the Chief Psychologist, Director, Deputy Director, and reporting supervisor
What we are looking for
• Good knowledge and experience in the study of psychology
• Knowledge of psychometrics and study design methodology
o Able to create and implement research protocols for data collection, including experiments, surveys, interviews, and focus groups
o Able to collect and analyse data related to the topic, using appropriate quantitative statistical and qualitative methods
• Strong research skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (i.e., Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) and statistical analysis
• Adequate writing and communication skills
• Strong task and time management skills
• Able to develop training materials catering to a specific audience
• Able to work well in diverse teams, within HTPD as well as with external agencies
