The Centre of Building Research (CBR), at Woodlands is the R&D Master Laboratory of HDB where research and test bedding are carried out. You will be based at CBR, as part of the team to research and testbed on new initiatives, and to manage the term contracts supply of precast components to accelerate industry adoption on the use of robotics and automation to improve productivity, precision, and quality in precast production works processes, and reduce reliance on manual labour at precast plants.

What the role is
What you will be working on
a. Develop plans, technical specifications, system requirements and design mechanisms for robotics and automation with AI technologies for precast production works processes.
b. Assess and review costs, budget and ROI for robotics and automation technologies for precast production to be adopted and implemented at precast plants.
c. Develop tender specifications for procurement or call for proposals of solutions, and review and evaluate proposals received.
d. Manage the term contracts for the production and supply of precast components to drive adoption of robotics and automation in the precast production works processes.
d. Conduct research and development in robotics and automation with AI technologies for precast production works in collaboration with industry partners and/or IHLs.
e. Work with vendors/Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs) on physical set-up, hardware installation and programming of movements, etc. for robotics and automation with AI technologies for precast production work processes.
f. Monitor, measure and track the performance of robotics and automation technologies deployed.
What we are looking for
• Background in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Systems or other relevant robotics engineering fields.
• At least 3 years of experience in the design and programming of robotics, automation, mechatronics, and project management is preferred and will be an added advantage.
• Proactive in keeping abreast and to experiment with new robotics and automation solutions to enhance project outcomes.
• Possess strong problem-solving skills to identify suitable solutions.
• Good inter-personal, communication and presentation skills.
• Able to work independently and be an effective team player.
Successful candidates will be offered a 2-year contract as a start.
