What the role is
What you will be working on
While there has been ongoing work to manage external price pressures, a more holistic policy approach is needed to coordinate government measures and address cost and price increases that are expected to contribute more to inflation in the coming years.
The project seeks to:
• Monitor and evaluate the competitive landscape that Singapore currently operates in;
• Monitor and evaluate quantitative and qualitative measures of economic competitiveness in a holistic manner;
• Highlight gaps and propose/facilitate/coordinate potential policy interventions in a timely fashion (where needed), to strengthen Singapore’s economic competitiveness.
The role requires the intern to:
• Assess competitor economies and their economic growth/investment attraction efforts vis-à-vis Singapore;
• Work with MTI’s Economists and other stakeholders to evaluate Singapore’s economic competitiveness (e.g. high frequency indicators, perception indices);
• Work with MTI-FSPD and other stakeholders to propose interventions as needed;
• Other tasks as required by MTI-FSPD/as the project matures.
What we are looking for
We are seeking an intern with strong analytical skills and excellent communication and interpersonal skills to join our team. Experience in data analysis will be an advantage.
