What the role is

The Strategic Systems Department (SSD) spearheads the development and operation of strategic pan-NEA systems in support of its operational objectives by leveraging Whole-of-Government (WOG) or best-in-class technology. The department also governs and manages key sensor networks to support NEA’s operational resiliency and transformation in alignment with WOG initiatives. This entails working closely with key stakeholders to harness synergies in both internal and WOG systems to introduce proven technologies into Ops processes for enhanced operational excellence. Critical work involves the conceptualisation, development, operationalisation and management of strategic systems to support and sustain new operating models.

One aspect of the department’s core work is receiving data from a variety of sensor sources, processing and sharing the sensor data with authorised entities.

What you will be working on

Successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing business solutions which align with the organisation’s goals and objectives. This includes product management from the conceptualisation, development, and delivery as part of the business solutions. As part of the programme team comprising system owners, and IT professionals, this job role will:

  • Develop and implement business strategies comprising models, use cases and value architecture to achieve the desired outcomes.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify business requirements and define products that meet their needs.
  • Provide business support to the project team (including the Govtech IT engineers) throughout the implementation lifecycle.
  • Identify opportunities for further product refinements and optimisation
  • Monitor, measure, evaluate and report the implementation outcomes

What we are looking for

The job might be for you if you possess the following qualities:

  • You possess strong WOG collaborative acumen and relevant industry knowledge of best practices
  • Knowledge in Computer Science or Information Technology would be an advantage
  • Relevant work experience in major IT and workflow re-engineering system projects and/or engineering systems with major IT components in government settings would be an advantage
  • Good team player with strong interpersonal communication, presentation & writing skills
  • Self-starter and able to accept a significant level of responsibility and accountability
  • Able to reimagine the delivery of services from a customer-centric perspective, identify improvements and redesign the service delivery process from a service journey perspective
  • Able to translate service processes into design of digital systems
  • Work well across agencies to achieve better coordination and integration of technology and processes
  • Able to work under fast-paced and multi-tasking environment
  • As part of the shortlisting process for this role, you may be required to complete a medical declaration and/or undergo further assessment
