What the role is

As part of the International Programmes team in the MPA Academy, you will develop and execute curriculum design and development for technical or executive leadership programmes for local and international maritime professionals and officials

What you will be working on

Training Programmes

  • Work closely with stakeholders (e.g. overseas participants from port/maritime administrations and international organizations, local maritime industry partners) to conduct needs analysis to identify knowledge, skills and competencies required, and leverage subject matter experts in programme design and development.

  • Develop engaging and effective training programmes and materials utilising various instructional techniques and innovative learning methodologies that will best suit the learning objectives. You need to collaborate with trainers and programme partners to ensure seamless delivery of courses and alignment of content with learning objectives for MPA’s training participants.

  • Lead and/or facilitate training sessions and workshops to ensure a positive learning experience for participants. The role includes overseeing the end-to-end training process, encompassing budgeting, procurement, scheduling, logistics and delivery of training programmes. Following programme completion, you will evaluate training effectiveness through survey and feedback mechanisms to measure learning outcomes and make continuous improvements to future programmes.

Training Portal

  • Support the development of a training portal and learning system that provides access to training services information and providers. Be responsible for the management of the portal when ready, including its content, organisation and coordination with other stakeholders. 

What we are looking for

  • Preferably a Tertiary degree in HRD, Instructional Design or other related fields. You should possess at least 3 to 5 years of relevant working experience in developing and managing programme and curriculum for an international and local audience. Prior work experience in the maritime industry or international relations will be an advantage.

  • Knowledge and/or experience in portal development and management or any other learning systems will be useful.  

  • Strong project management skills, resourceful, organised, and meticulous. Able to work effectively in teams, have excellent communication and be enthusiastic about helping others develop competencies and skills, in particular for the international maritime community.
