What the role is

MDDI’s Data Office leads MDDI’s Data Strategy and drives the use of data to inform key policy and programmes. We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Senior Data Analyst/ Analyst to join MDDI’s Data Office team. In this role, you will leverage your skills and experience to analyze complex problem statements, transform data into actionable insights, and support various departments in defining their data needs. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of data analytics, excellent stakeholder management skills, and the ability to navigate the complexities of a public sector environment. You will be a key player in scoping and advising departments, ensuring that data-driven decisions are based on clear, actionable, and well-defined problem statements.

What you will be working on

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather business requirements and define data-driven objectives • Work closely with departments to translate business challenges into clearly defined data problems • Provide expert guidance to stakeholders in scoping data analytics projects, ensuring alignment with overall goals • Apply advanced data analysis techniques to clean, process, and analyze large datasets from various sources • Generate reports, visualizations, and dashboards that convey insights clearly and effectively • Deliver actionable insights and recommendations to stakeholders, supporting decision-making processes across the organization • Communicate complex data findings in a clear, concise, and non-technical manner to senior leadership and other stakeholders • Ensure data quality and integrity through rigorous validation and testing processes • Identify opportunities for process improvements and data-driven optimization across departments • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, tools, and techniques to bring innovative data solutions to the organization

What we are looking for

• 3-5 years of proven experience in data analytics, with a strong portfolio of work demonstrating problem-solving capabilities • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Python, Tableau, SQL), and data visualization best practices • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to present technical findings to non-technical audiences • Strong experience working in a cross-functional team, with the ability to collaborate effectively with different departments and leadership • Demonstrated ability to handle competing priorities and deliver high-quality results • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data quality and accuracy • Understanding of the public sector context and its specific challenges is a plus • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related field Desired Attributes: • Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to think critically and analytically, with maturity • Enjoys teamwork and collaborates well with others, but can work independently and effectively • A flair for stakeholder engagement, with the ability to build trust and influence decisions • Proactive and self-motivated with a desire to continuously improve skills and processes Please note that only shortlisted candidates would be notified.
