The Policy Planning and Research Division overseas 4 strategic areas – (1) Statistics, (2) International Engagement, (3) Planning, and (4) Policy and Research.
The current vacancy is for the Statistics Cluster which manages the analysis and reporting of statistics. The job-holder reports to Assistant Director, Statistics. As part of the team, the officer is expected to assist the Assistant Director in the following areas of work:
• Supervising the collation of statistics by a team of support officers and identifying areas for optimisation.
• Conducting analysis of the statistical drug trends for regular reports, public statistical releases as well as presentations to internal and external stakeholders.
• Putting up ad-hoc papers with analysis on key and emerging drug trends to guide policy review and operational strategies.
• Staffing of key ministry-level meetings such as Departmental Exco and Ministerial Meetings.
• Staffing of various data management and governance matters.

What you will be working on
Main Responsibilities
• The key focus of this position holder will be planning and managing CNB’s onboarding onto Tableau.
• Develop and manage a comprehensive and structured three-year onboarding plan for CNB to implement Tableau.
• Manage the engagement of external training vendors, including the procurement processes and ensuring that CNB officers’ learning and user needs are met through courses or services.
• Engage CNB officers across divisions to address their Tableau-related queries. Work closely with officers to explore utilisation of the software to improve work productivity and data visualisation.
• Use Tableau to conduct analysis of statistical drug trends for internal use, regular reports and public statistical release.
• The position holder will also be assisting in other areas of work of the team, including:
o Providing statistics and data support within CNB and external requests (e.g. in Committee of Supply debates, Parliamentary queries, media queries) to enable better operational and policy formulation.
o Ensuring accurate and timely collation and analysis of key drug statistics for internal reporting and public release.
o Staffing of key meetings and data-related policy matters.
What we are looking for
• A degree in any discipline.
• Familiarity with Tableau and data visualisation is a must, with professional experience in these areas will be preferred.
• Experience in Tableau training will be advantageous.
• Meticulous and possess strong analytical skills.
• Competent in Tableau, Microsoft Office Software, particularly MS Powerpoint, Access and Excel.
• He / she must be able to write and communicate well. Competent presentation skills would be an advantage.
