What the role is

The Animal & Veterinary Service (AVS), a cluster of NParks, safeguards the health and welfare of animals through comprehensive and integrated programmes and works closely with partners in the veterinary and animal-related industries to strengthen capacities and enhance competencies in animal health and welfare. It is the main touch-point on animal and veterinary matters in Singapore and the first responder for all animal-related feedback. It also conducts public education and engagement programmes to foster a humane and gracious society for all, where pet owners, communities, and animals co-exist in greater harmony within our City in Nature.

What you will be working on

You will be part of the Licensing Branch under the Industry Standards and Regulatory Division, to manage pet licensing in Singapore, through a licensing regime to safeguard animal health and welfare. 

We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join our licensing team as a main touchpoint for all licensing-related processing and feedback. 

Your scope of work includes: 

  • Manage and review licence applications, relevant processes, and policies
  • Manage feedback and enquiries from various stakeholders 
  • Administration of the licensing system which includes work on IT system redevelopment and enhancement(s) to streamline processes for better customer experience
  • Analyse data on current licensing regime and information points

You will also be engaging licensees in areas which includes but is not limited to, clarifying licensing requirements and following up on outstanding documentation, reviewing consultations, and attending to appeals. You will also provide support for projects undertaken by the department and organization as well as participating in inter-agency conversations, projects and community engagement activities.

What we are looking for

  • An organized, creative and resourceful team player who is able to work independently.
  • Relevant working experience with public interaction and knowledge in statistics and data analysis tools would be advantageous.
  • Good interpersonal and writing skills to manage public queries.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office applications.
