What the role is

Support Singapore's international work related to climate change adaptation and loss and damage

What you will be working on

You will be attached to MSE’s Energy & Climate Policy Division (ECPD) and the Climate Change Negotiation Office (CCNO) to support Singapore's international work related to climate change adaptation and loss and damage. Background: Singapore will be developing its first NAP to articulate Singapore's vision of climate change adaptation, including its adaptation objectives, strategies as well as the roles and responsibilities among relevant stakeholders. Internationally, Singapore also has an interest to ensure that ongoing negotiations on the UAE-Belem Work Programme on Indicators on Adaptation at the UNFCCC, which may have a bearing on our NAP, are in line with our strategic interests. Roles: 1. [CCNO] You will support work related to adaptation and loss and damage at the UNFCCC, including on the development of the UAE-Belem Work Programme on Indicators. He/she will also assist to cover and report on selected international climate change meetings and to highlight implications for Singapore, if any. 2. [ECPD] You will be involved in conducting international benchmarking of other countries' NAPs and distilling key learning points for Singapore's own NAP.

What we are looking for

- Good attitude to learn - Good verbal and written communication skills - Keen interest in environmental/climate change resilience issues - Good analytical skills and research capacity - Good stakeholder management skills - Prior experience in event planning/management for stakeholder engagements will be useful - Background knowledge on IPCC and UNFCCC will be useful, but not mandatory Period of Internship: May to Aug 2025
