What the role is
What you will be working on
You will be involved in two projects covering different aspects of environmental policy.
(1) Sustaining the hawker trade
You will be involved in:
- Conducting landscape scans of the global and local developments in the hawker and wider food and beverage industry (e.g. manpower trends, affordability).
- Studies to better understand the aspirations of new or young hawkers.
These will inform future policies related to sustaining the hawker trade and manpower pipeline for the hawker sector.
(2) Boosting Singapore’s recycling rate
You will be involved in:
- Conducting international scans of economic policies (e.g. subsidies, grants, innovative business models) that aim to reduce waste generation and increase recycling, with a focus on the commercial/industrial sector.
- Recommending possible measures to boost recycling among businesses.
These will inform potential policy moves to improve Singapore’s recycling rate.
