This includes engaging and collaborating with various IMDA divisions, other government agencies, and industry players, to understand and analyse technology and industry developments, identify opportunities and incubate ideas, assess policy and governance issues relating to the digital economy, and develop strategies and plans. We would like to invite an independent and self-motivated individual with keen interest in contributing to the growth of Singapore’s digital economy.
Responsibilities
Conduct research, sense making and forecasting of trends relevant to the infocomm and media landscape by synthesising research and data from multiple sources. This includes identifying and evaluating technology, market and regulatory trends and opportunities for Singapore.
Work with internal divisions and relevant government/public agencies on matters relating to digital economy, technology trends and developments, including carrying out economic, statistical and/or policy assessments to facilitate evidence-based policy and strategy formulation and decision-making.
Develop mid to long-term goals and strategic objectives for IMDA and the economy digitalisation plans and facilitate the planning process to translate strategies into actionable workplans.
Carry out studies and collaborations with key partners (e.g. other government agencies, think tanks, research institutions and academia) on the development of economic analysis, think pieces and research publications.
Develop/refine our digital economy strategies and plans, as well as develop international thought leadership in these areas.
Collaborate with internal divisions, or lead cross-division projects, and with relevant government/public agencies on matters relating to digital economy, technology trends and developments, including carrying out strategic reviews and assessments to develop mid to long-term goals and strategic objectives for IMDA and the Digital Economy.
Manage and coordinate strategic resources, corporate initiatives, processes and operational plans, including with other Ministries or government agencies, to ensure alignment with overall strategies.
Lead cross-division reviews/analysis of greenfield opportunities and ideas for Digital Economy, including development of strategies, plans and programmes in these new areas.
Requirements
You should have a good understanding of the Infocomm and Media sectors, Economic landscape and Public Policy/Administration, with, minimally, 5 years of experience in relevant fields or capacity.
You should possess strong analytical skills with economic/statistical background, and understand data and ICT trends, and be comfortable navigating uncertainties at the intersection of technology, policy and regulation.
You should enjoy working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, including tight deadlines, and be able to work independently as well as in a team/cross-team setting.
You should have excellent writing and communication skills, with ability to prepare analysis, assessments and presentations in a clear and concise manner, using tools such as word, excel and powerpoint.
