As the Deputy Director (Quality Assurance Inspectorate), you will lead a team and drive the development and review of a robust Quality Assurance (QA) & Quality Control (QC) framework and a centralised management system for lab workflow, analytical procedures, and water quality data.

Your main roles and responsibilities are: 1) Lead and guide the team to establish a strong QA & QC framework to ensure accuracy and integrity of water quality data collected and analysed by PUB’s in-house laboratory. It includes the planning and execution of a water quality sampling & monitoring programme, carrying out water quality audits and the accreditation of the laboratory by Singapore Accreditation Council (SAC). 2) Conduct regular reviews of regulatory frameworks, standards and guidelines to ensure that the local practices are in line with international developments and global trends. 3) Engage the drinking water regulator Singapore Food Agency on the Environmental Public Health (Water Suitable for Drinking) Regulations and water quality testing results. 4) Develop, maintain and review the water quality data management system, including the Laboratory Information Management System for scheduling and reporting of water quality analyses and data.

• Master or Degree in Chemistry, Biology or Microbiology. • About 10 years of experience in water science and/or analytics of water matrices. • Expertise and/or experience with using data analytics and AI to derive new actionable insights from big data sets will be an advantage. • Strong leadership and analytical skills, with the ability to thrive under tight deadlines. • Logical and operational thinking, capable of developing predictions with a sound basis • Excellent analytical, writing, and presentation skills. • Organised and meticulous, with strong communication skills.
