What the role is

The VC Secretariat will support the VC for its secretariat and operational functions, including managing registration, accreditation, and disciplinary processes. Thus, it will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth functioning of the VC in fulfilling its responsibilities.
You will be working directly with the VC under the Industry Standards and Regulatory (ISR) Division of NParks. Through assisting in the set-up of the IT portal and public-facing website for the VC, your role will be crucial in developing and maintaining the VC’s digital infrastructure.
Your scope of work includes:
- Performing thorough requirements analysis for the VC’s digital infrastructure
- Collaborating with IT vendors to architect, design, implement, and maintain systems
- Developing and implementing strategies to improve user interface (UI) and overall functionality
- Safeguarding the systems’ security governance
- Conducting regular performance tuning and optimisation
- Providing technical support and guidance on the digital platform to both internal staff and external stakeholders
What we are looking for
- Areas of study in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related fields
- 1 year of experience in IT system development and maintenance and project management
- Certifications in relevant technologies or project management methodologies (e.g., ITIL, PMP) are highly advantageous
- Proficiency in web development technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
- Experience with database management systems
- Proven track record in requirements analysis and system implementation
- Experience working with IT vendors and managing external partnerships
- Familiarity with IT security protocols and best practices
- An understanding of user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) design principles
- Keen analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- The ability to work effectively in collaborative settings as well as independently
