What the role is

The National School Games Office (NSGO) supports the organisation of the largest and most extensive annual school sports championships in Singapore. As a Senior Games Executive, NGSO, in the Physical, Sports and Outdoor Education Branch (PSOEB) under the Student Development Curriculum Division 2, you will be part of a dynamic team that supports the smooth organisation of National School Games (NSG) sports competitions under the Singapore Schools Sports Council (SSSC) and the Singapore Primary Schools Sports Council (SPSSC). You will also be supporting other key NSG-related and PSOEB events and facilitating the participation of student athletes in regional/ international sports competitions.

What you will be working on

• Work with multiple stakeholders (Organising Committees, suppliers, service providers) on the operational, administrative, finance and procurement matters to facilitate the successful running of NSG competitions • Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures and adoption of best practices for the organisation of NSG competitions across different sports clusters • Support the organisation of NSG and PSOEB events such as the NSG Opening Ceremony, Colours Awards Presentation, Closing Ceremony, Annual General Meeting, Junior Sports Academy and International School Games • Manage and maintain IT system for competition management, including competition registration, awards administration (e.g. sportsmanship awards) and updating of key competition information such as daily competition results and schedules • Ensure contracts are executed in accordance with specifications and assist with gathering of supporting documents for payment to suppliers and service providers • Respond to queries from schools on operational and IT system matters

What we are looking for

• A highly-motivated individual who is dynamic, service-oriented and resourceful • Good interpersonal, analytical and organisation skills • An effective team player who is also able to work well independently as well as in teams • General interest in sports • At least 1 year of experience in public sector’s finance and procurement would have an advantage In general, applicants can expect to hear from us within 3 weeks of the close of the application window.
