What the role is
What you will be working on
Your main roles and responsibilities would include but not limited to:
• To develop and perform advanced microbial analysis with a focus on metagenomics and virology testing
• To design and implement relevant microbial surveillance programme for emerging issues
• To conduct R&D studies and microbial risk assessment for emerging issues in microbial water quality
• To carry out administrative duties and any other related duties
What we are looking for
• Degree/Master in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Life Sciences or equivalent;
• Experience in metagenomics and virology testing, including cell culture and molecular biology methodologies
• Knowledgeable in using common bioinformatic tools, such as Ribotagger, Diamond blastx etc
• Knowledgeable and experienced in conducting microbial risk assessment
• Good written, communication and interpersonal skills, and able to work in a team-oriented environment
• Meticulous, resourceful, organised and self-driven with critical thinking skills
• Motivated, responsible and proactive individual
