What the role is
What you will be working on
The VC Secretariat will support the VC for its secretariat and operational functions, including managing registration, accreditation, and disciplinary processes. Thus, it will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth functioning of the VC in fulfilling its responsibilities.
You will be the team lead of the VC Secretariat under the Professional & Scientific Services (PSS) Division of NParks. As the team lead, you will be responsible for supervising the team in providing secretariat support to the VC.
Your scope of work includes:
- Leading and supervising the team responsible for development and functioning of the VC
- Drafting and reviewing legislation and policies related to the veterinary sector
- Plan, develop and execute frameworks for governance of veterinary professionals
- Communicate policies and plans effectively to stakeholders
- Ensure good governance and administration of resources and workplans
- Engaging with various stakeholders such as veterinary professionals, pet owners, educational institutions, government and international bodies on various platforms to inform policy and develop the veterinary sector
What we are looking for
- Areas of study in Veterinary Science or healthcare professional qualifications preferred
- Experience in and knowledge of the veterinary and/or healthcare sectors is preferred
- Experience in supervising a team through complex operations and large-scale projects from conception to implementation would be advantageous
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- The ability to liaise effectively with various stakeholders, including veterinary professionals, pet owners, educational institutions, government bodies, and international organisations
- A highly motivated individual with strong leadership and management skills
- Good IT skills e.g. sound applied knowledge of Microsoft Office, AI tools
