We are looking for a skilled Experience Engineer to join the Exhibitions department.
Essential Job Functions
As an Experience Engineer, you will work with a team to translate scientific phenomenon into engaging, interactive exhibits and exhibitions, so as to bring out the beauty of science into an interactive and intriguing experience.
You will be responsible for transforming conceptual designs into practical exhibits through research-driven user interface development and behavioral analysis, whilst drafting comprehensive technical documents that include detailed drawings, specifications, and cost estimations. Working closely with the maintenance team, imagineers and experience designers, you will develop and test prototypes, as well as provide innovative engineering solutions for exhibit design and construction. This includes reviewing and validating the design feasibility, practicability, and completion timeframe of exhibits through 3D models and technical schematics. Additionally, you will maintain vendor relationships, oversee exhibit construction and installation, and conduct on-site supervision to ensure all construction aligns with engineering specifications. You will be required to scope technical and equipment requirements for procurement of services.
Requirements
The ideal candidate should possess a Degree in Engineering or equivalent, with a strong understanding of engineering principles across multiple disciplines. The position requires an individual who can demonstrate creativity across any format or media, and who genuinely enjoys tinkering and troubleshooting. The candidate should be meticulous and analytical in approach, whilst consistently seeking innovative solutions for new experiences. The ability to find multiple solutions to technical challenges, driven by curiosity and keen observational skills as well as being reflective and people-oriented are essential qualities in this role. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
