What the role is
What you will be working on
• Building data models and managing efficient data pipelines
• Integrating diverse data sources to support DOS' data initiatives
• Assisting with the adoption and implementation of ELT/ETL tools
• Automating scripts for statistical processes
What we are looking for
• Demonstrated experience with SQL and relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL), such as database design, query optimization, data modelling, and/or ingestion pipelines
• Strong programming skills in Python
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes
• Understanding of data modelling techniques and best practices
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Possess Knowledge/experience in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
Advantageous:
• Experience with other programming languages like R, Java, Scala, etc.
• Certifications in relevant data technologies (e.g., AWS Certified Data Analytics)
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and their data services
• Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, and Hive
