What the role is

As a grant-maker, Tote Board seeks to create social change through impact giving. We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic intern to join our team. If you are eager to dive into the world of data analytics and help enhance our programme evaluation and impact measurement capabilities, this internship is for you. You will gain hands-on experience in developing and analysing surveys, with mentorship to help you refine your skills in survey design, data analysis and reporting. What you will be working on

Project Description:

The intern will be required to:

  • Assist to design and distribute surveys and process survey responses.

  • Collect and process data from various sources and organise into data sets for analysis

  • Conduct exploratory data analysis to identify patterns, trends and correlations within the different sets of data.

  • Utilise visualisation tools such as Tableau to develop interactive dashboards and presentation of insights

  • Assist to compile and prepare impact reports

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and address analytical needs.

  • Other duties as assigned

Key project deliverables* include, but is not limited to:

  • Summary Report and Presentation Deck on survey insights and results.

  • Presentation of programmes/teams’ performance review through Tableau interactive dashboards

  • Data Analysis Report summarising findings from data entry, cleaning, and organisation, along with insights for future analysis.

*Project deliverable requirements may vary or be rescoped accordingly

What we are looking for

Project Requirements:

  • Interest in grant-making processes and data analytics

  • Preferably final year university student in Business, Social Science, Computer Science/Info Technology or Data Science. Have some experience in RPA/Tableau and familiar with Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team.

  • Strong organisational and time management skills

Learning Outcome:

  • The intern will have the opportunity to:

  • Gain proficiency in the full data lifecycle, from collection to analysis and presentation.

  • Create effective data visualisations and performance review materials using tools like Tableau.

  • Understand the components, processes and rationale of impact measurement to support decision-making.

  • Develop an appreciation for the impact of the Tote Board Grants portfolio.

  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to address analytical needs.

The internship programme runs for at least three months between May 2025 and December 2025. Please indicate your available start and end dates in your CV.

About Tote Board

Established in 1988, Tote Board (Singapore Totalisator Board) is a statutory board of the Ministry of Finance. As a broad-based grantmaking organisation, Tote Board works closely with stakeholders and partners, to support broad and diverse worthy projects in the sectors of Arts, Community Development, Education, Health, Social Service and Sports.
