As a TP Information Hotline (TPIH) call operator, you are required to assist members of public on TP-related enquiries through phone. You are also required to advise public on common TP processes such as driving license applications, driving test procedures and Police (particularly TP) functions and responsibilities.

Your key responsibility areas include • Ensure that information provided to the public are correct and up-to-date; • Ensure that enquiries are attended to promptly, and feedback or further clarifications are channeled to the appropriate officer(s) for follow-up action; • Meeting Police’s service standards for phone calls, i.e. to answer a call within 3 rings and to speak to a customer within 5 minutes (of waiting time)

• Knowledge and skills - Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite tools such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint and good soft skills. • Experience – Good understanding of the Unit Standing Order, PGO, IM and operational procedures of Traffic Police (and Policing in general); Good communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively both independently and in teams and preferably have relevant working experience in managing public requests. • Attributes - possess good inter-relation and communication skills in order to deal with public and internal stakeholders. The personal characteristics required of a call operator is someone who is resilient and able to work independently under pressure. Jobholder should be patient and firm when dealing with difficult callers. • Other unique job requirement –Required to be fluent in English and one other official language. • Required to communicate clear information/instructions to members of public professionally. • Successful applicant(s) are required to complete a Course in Mastering Telephone Skills within a 6-month probation period.
