Interested in building a Smart Nation with us? We are looking for an outstanding intern to join the Government Data Division (GDD) in developing the capabilities to drive better use of data in the Public Service, through engagements, training and research.
As we look towards the next bound of Digital Government, it is more important than ever to uplift our abilities to use data to create solutions that benefit citizens and businesses. At GDD, we rally teams across all agencies to achieve our vision of a public sector that is ‘data-driven to the core’. From working with senior leaders such as Permanent Secretaries on how to transform their organisations to be more data-driven, to developing and implementing initiatives to build up the Government data community, you will have tremendous opportunity to make an out-sized impact to Singapore and Singaporeans through harnessing the use of data to enable more informed policymaking, improved agency operations, and better service delivery.

What the role is
What you will be working on
Project Objectives:
1. Support policy intelligence on internal data trends:
• Support comprehensive stakeholder engagements across government agencies to map data governance landscapes and identify systemic challenges;
• Analyse and synthesise ground insights to develop robust recommendations for Government Data Division's whole-of-government data strategies and policies;
• Build a detailed understanding of agencies' data management practices and governance structures to identify patterns and inform policy decisions
2. Conduct research on data enablers:
• Conduct international scans on data governance focusing on leading governments and private sector organisations to benchmark and enhance Singapore's Government data strategies;
• Develop a monthly intelligence report synthesising key data management, tech trends, and innovative governance approaches.

• Experienced in design thinking methodologies and extracting meaningful problem statements from stakeholder engagements
