As part of the geospatial modelling research team at CSUN, you will focus on scoping, conducting, and managing research projects pertaining, but not limited to, ecosystem services assessment, spatial ecology, and geospatial analytics applications for urban ecosystems and accessibility-based service level assessments.

What the role is
What you will be working on
• Scoping and managing research projects (with external collaborators or in-house projects) to advance geospatial modelling capabilities in the focus areas mentioned above, as assigned.
• Conducting in-house geospatial analytics and modelling projects, including data stocktake, related to ecosystem services assessment, species distribution modelling and urban analytics for accessibility-based service level assessments.
• Working closely with multiple stakeholders and in cross-functional teams to ensure that research findings can translate to support policy formulation and guide planning, design, development, and management of Singapore’s natural capital.
What we are looking for
• Areas of studies in a field related to geography, ecology, earth systems science, landscape, urban planning
• Experience in ecosystem services modelling
• Experience in geospatial modelling/data analytics, such as, working with large datasets to carry out spatial and statistical analysis
• Experience in collecting and working with species data for measuring and assessing biodiversity
• Demonstrated track record in working with multiple stakeholders (e.g. government agencies, vendors, academia etc.).
• Conversant with one or more coding languages (e.g. R, python).
Preferably, candidates should possess:
• Research experience in ecosystem service modelling, and biodiversity assessment.
• Research experience working on park accessibility and equity models
• Research grant and/or project management experience.
