You plan and execute public and digital communication efforts in support of MINDEF/Singapore Armed Forces (SAF)’s communication objectives, principally to preserve and strengthen public trust and confidence in national defence, National Service (NS) and the SAF.

- Formulate publicity plans mainstream and social media - Work closely with the media on feature stories as well as draft replies to forum letters and media queries - Develop the plans for local and international media engagement - Deal with the public communication of consequence management that involves incidents and unplanned events with a view towards maintaining public confidence in MINDEF/SAF Challenge(s) - Working with multiple stakeholders to gain a thorough understanding of policy and operational issues, and then developing effective communication strategies that meet organisational objectives in a timely manner

- Education in Communication Studies, Political Science, Social Sciences, Information and Communication Technology, Digital Media or Information Science is preferred - Strong English proficiency - Additional language skills (Mandarin/Malay/Tamil) is useful - Strong interpersonal and communication skills - Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team - Keen interest in Singapore’s media, political, defence and security developments, have a good understanding of Singapore’s media landscape, and be comfortable working with policy makers and staff departments - Meticulous and detail-oriented - Adaptability to work odd hours on very short notice (Applicants with no experience may apply.)
