What the role is

The Challenge The People & Culture Group, a department in Public Service Division, provides strategic and operational shared HR services to many public agencies under its care. We implement bestin-class people practices to help public agencies build a high-performing and engaged workforce, enabling them to achieve their organizational mission and strategic goals. Under the People & Culture Group, the People Experience team focuses on redesigning key experiences to elevate and ‘create magic’ across all touchpoints of the employee lifecycle to enable our people to thrive and succeed. We also play a key role in building up our agencies’ branding and generate awareness as employers of choice so that we can attract the right kind of talent that is aligned with our agencies’ values. As a #PPPintern, you will be part of several exciting projects that exposes you to various HR functions and truly make an impact in designing some of these initiatives.

What you will be working on

Learning Areas Our #PeoplePurposePossibilities internship will provide valuable exposure to the strategic and data-driven aspects of human resources, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of progressive people practices to agencies. You will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience as a consulting-practitioner through the following: • Assist with the redesign of employee touchpoints using technology and gamification. This includes using a design-thinking approach to collect data and uncover pain-points, followed by creatively conceptualizing the end-state and finally implementing/ redesigning the product. • Support a broad range of initiatives under our #EVPunleashed strategy to elevate our employer branding and develop channels for talent attraction. Some initiatives include building brand awareness by leveraging social media (e.g. LinkedIn), growing our ambassador pool, and working with key partners (Institutes of Higher Learning) on strategic partnerships and engagements. • Play a part in conceptualization and implementation of novel ideas to create an elevated workplace experience to boost productivity and belonging.

An ideal candidate should possess the following: • [Thinking Clearly and Making Sound Judgements] Dare to work with ambiguity, and propose ways to sense-make, and propose sound solutions for the business. • [Working Effectively with Stakeholders] Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. You should possess good written and oral communication skills. • [Storytelling] Able to formulate impactful and engaging narratives. Having visual design skills (e.g. Adobe Illustrator) and/or marketing experiences will be advantageous. • [Creative Thinking and Problem Solving] Develop insights based on data and market research, and design suitable interventions to enhance key touchpoints.
