In recent years, global supply chains are increasingly being scrutinised for their ability to withstand shocks. As a small and open economy with limited natural resources, Singapore is import dependent and is also highly susceptible to global disruptions.
The Supply Chain and Economic Resilience Division (SCERD) serves as the whole-of-Government supply chain resilience lead and is responsible for ensuring the resilience of Singapore’s critical supply chains and ensuring operational preparedness during national emergency and peacetime crises. SCERD also oversees building and institutionalising resilience and crisis management capabilities in the Ministry of Trade and Industry.
