What the role is
What you will be working on
1. Assist to develop and implement policies, plans and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for MSF’s response to emergencies at WOG level.
2. Support the co-ordination of internal and external emergency response and crisis management groups as well as maintaining and testing corporate-level emergency response and crisis management procedures.
3. Support coordination with other government agencies and key stakeholders to plan and prepare MSF’s response to emergencies at WOG level.
4. Forecast need and provide for sufficiency of resources for MSF’s response during a crisis.
5. Support decision-makers in Ministry-level crisis incidents.
6. Support the planning and conduct of exercises to validate plans and familiarise stakeholders/ EP appointment holders with their roles to main operational readiness and response capability, and incorporate lessons learnt in reviewing plans and procedures to maintain the operational readiness of the Ministry for various scenarios
7. Monitor the budget and administrative resources to optimise their use in supporting the Unit’s objectives and operations.
8. Perform secretariat duties for meetings and workshops.
What we are looking for
• Knowledge and working experience in project management
• Familiarity with all areas of crisis and emergency management and/or Ops Policy for the social service sector will be of advantage.
• Experience in planning operations
• Experience in managing crisis situations in large organisations will be of advantage.
• Able to think out of the box to find workable solutions for existing and anticipated responses to challenges and evolving situations.
• Effective team player able to engage and build consensus with multiple stakeholders with diverse interests and concerns.
• Has the drive and resourcefulness to produce outcomes within tight deadlines and under pressure.
• Strong organisational, analytical, written, communication and inter-personal skills.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to establish good working relationships with peers from external agencies.
• Meticulous in the course of work.
