The Policy Development Division (PDD) oversees a range of policies to support the Home Team’s mission, including: rehabilitation, drugs, safety and security, criminal justice, and immigration and registration . As part of PDD, the Immigration and Registration (IR) team is responsible for overseeing the immigration and registration policies to safeguard our national security, social cohesion and strategic national interests.

The job holder will: • Be responsible for the Division’s administrative functions, such as maintenance of office equipment and office space, supporting on/off-boarding of personnel, logistics support for meetings or events, etc. • Provide logistical support to the Division for Parliamentary procedures. • Manage procurement and budget functions for the Division, including the use of MHA/Whole-of-Government enterprise systems, tracking of budget, etc. • Provide covering secretariat support to the Senior Director; • Assist with immigration case work.

• Able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team • Meticulous, with good organisation skills; • Good communication and interpersonal skills; • Good digital skills, including use of basic excel functions; and • Good command of written and spoken English. All new appointees will be appointed on a two-year contract in the first instance.
