What the role is

Responsibilities:
We are looking for an energetic individual to join our dynamic IT Infrastructure team to oversee IT network operations to improve the delivery of our systems and services. You will be part of the team that will plan, architect and stage our hybrid IT environment.

- Provide oversight of outsourced infrastructure maintenance vendors such as servers, storage, networks, databases, backup and restore, and end-user devices.
- Through the outsourced vendors, monitor the agency’s servers, networks, and computer systems for irregularities and performance issues. Assess and determine root cause of system failures and areas for repair or improvement.
- Direct, guide and resolve escalated issues from the outsourced vendors in all aspects of IT operations.
- Manage and lead infrastructure projects and contracts, such as hardware and software maintenance, upgrades and technology refreshes.
- Perform operational due diligence through standardized processes and policies to ensure the security and resilience of the overall IT infrastructure.
- Work closely with EMA’s applications team, planning, governance and security team, outsourced vendors and other stakeholders to solicit cooperation, negotiate and resolve problems. Ultimately, you’ll ensure EMA’s IT systems are secure, consistent and reliable.


Requirements:
- Background in Computer Science, Information Technology and/or related discipline.
- Proven experience as an IT Network Manager with at least 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in IT infrastructure, with thorough knowledge of servers, cloud technology, storage, OS, virtualisation, networks, SIEM and end user computing devices.
- Leadership and organizational skills.
- Outstanding written and communication skills. Ability to convey technical concepts and contribute to operations management and project implementation.
- Problem-solving aptitude.
- Prior experience in the public sector would have an advantage.
- Ability to respond to emergency situations promptly.
- Ability to perform systems maintenance and/or upgrades after office hour/weekends when necessary
