The Department of Student Services is seeking a passionate, dedicated professional to enhance student well-being and foster a mentally healthy school community. This role requires both interpersonal and organizational skills to engage with students, staff, and external partners in promoting mental wellness.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and evaluate programs and initiatives that promote student mental wellness.
- Facilitate and organize mental health training sessions for students and staff to enhance mental health literacy and peer support networks.
- Develop and distribute mental health resources, ensuring students can easily access information and support services.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to provide students with comprehensive mental health support.
- Provide administrative support to the counselling team for mental health initiatives and outreach efforts.
Requirements
- A relevant qualification in counselling, psychology, social work, or a related field
- Demonstrate strong understanding of youth mental health issues, evidence-based interventions, and best practices in program development
- Experience and passion working with youth in education or social service settings
- Strong communication and administrative skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team
- Preferred experience (an advantage but not required):
- Developing and executing mental well-being programs
- Using digital tools to enhance mental health support and outreach efforts
- Working with youth from diverse backgrounds, including those with special needs or mental health conditions.
Successful applicant will be offered a 2-year contract in the first instance.
