• To support Whole-of-Government national initiatives and public communications efforts by producing quality translated communications materials
• Interns will be assigned to two of the following projects based on their aptitude and interests:
o National Translation Committee (NTC)-Centre of Excellence for Translation (Co-Ex): To support National Translation Committee (NTC) initiatives and provide secretariat support to the NTC and its language resource panels
o Citizen Translators Project: To support volunteer management and engagement efforts under the Citizen Translators (CTs) initiative, such as organising activities and tasks for CTs and monitoring CT feedback through various channels
o TCS Team: To assist the grant manager in publicising, managing and administering the Translation Talent Development Scheme and Community-in-Translation Events Grant.
o Tech Team A: To support the department’s research on and experimentation with new translation technologies and digital solutions that can improve translation efficiency and quality as well as extract and clean the department’s translation terminology and memory database for training the SG Translate (SGT) MT engine
o Tech Team B: To support the maintenance, development, and/or publicising of the SG Translate (SGT) MT engine, SG Translate Together (SGTT) web portal, and the Government Terms Translated (GTT) repository

What the role is
What we are looking for
• Good language and/or translation skills in English and Chinese/Malay/Tamil for the project
• Good knowledge of current affairs
• Good time management skills and able to multi-task
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and Microsoft Teams
• Good project management skills
• Knowledge of translation technologies, video-editing, graphic design, integrated marketing communications, event management and/or campaign management would be beneficial
• Able to commit for at least 3 to 4 months (Please indicate your available period in your application or CV)
