The intern will be part of the Corporate Planning & Development Division within the Public Transport Council. The intern will support the work to digitalise the work processes of the Division’s functions such as human resources and finance.
The projects will focus on using Whole-of-Government tools to automate processes and identify areas for streamlining and improvement for more effective outcomes. The intern will play an important role in the planning and execution of the project which impact several stakeholders, which includes the documentation and analysis of current processes, identify areas for digitalization, and executing the work.

What the role is
What you will be working on
• Work closely with IT and users to identify the processes requiring automation. This includes documenting and analysing current processes, identifying areas for improvement and may involve data collection, cleansing, analysis and reporting.
• Migration of intranet web services to a new platform using Isomer, which require new web interface design and access to corporate forms and resources.
• Document code, processes, methodologies, and findings as part of knowledge management.
What we are looking for
• Currently enrolled in a tertiary programme related to data science, computer science, or a related field. Penultimate year students preferred
• Interest in data analysis, visualization, and deriving insights from large datasets.
• Curious, self-motivated with a passion for learning
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Effective communication and collaboration abilities within a team environment while retaining the ability to work independently when needed.
• Ability to multitask and work independently and in teams.
