What the role is
What you will be working on
You will be part of a team that carries out environmental planning and control so that environmental factors are being incorporated for proposed developments/projects to safeguard the environment. Your primary duties will include the following:
Evaluate and process development control plans, building plans, and detailed plans (including application of Building Information Modelling to submissions), as well as ensure that environmental factors and related considerations (i.e. preventive and mitigating measures) are being incorporated in the design of the proposed developments
Evaluate and process reports and technical studies related to environmental impacts on air, water and noise pollution
Evaluate and process pollution control studies, noise assessments, site specific impact assessments and climate change adaptation reports
Assess the air dispersion modelling study, noise modelling study and quantitative risk assessment to establish the environmental impact and risks associated with the proposed developments
Evaluate land-use proposals for major infrastructures and agencies’ projects as well as providing assessment on environmental matters (i.e. environmental management, pollution control, public health and safety issues) to ensue a liveable and sustainable environment
Review environmental planning norms and requirements to keep abreast with the developments in Singapore, leveraging on technology and state of the art environmental control measures
What we are looking for
Degree in Environmental, Chemical, Civil or Mechanical Engineering
Relevant experience in plan processing and preparing environmental reports
Self-motivated, independent, resourceful, able to foster teamwork and also able to work independently
Good analytical, writing and interpersonal communication skills
Good knowledge of environmental modelling tools, Building Information Modelling (BIM) and interpretation building plans or any architecture knowledge
