What the role is

NEA is the lead agency for planning after-death facilities and services in Singapore. The Memorial Facilities and Planning Division oversees the planning and provision of these facilities. You will be responsible for leading the planning and launching of new after-death facilities and services.

This role focuses on the sustainable management of cremated human ashes. This role requires close collaboration and consultation with multiple stakeholders, to ensure timely and sustainable provision of such facilities and services. The candidate must have a good eye for details and will take on finance, project management and procurement responsibilities.

What you will be working on

Your job responsibilities include:

  • Plan and develop after-death facilities/services, and manage consultants and contractors
  • Lead feasibility studies and pilot programmes for new initiatives
  • Formulate policy and operational strategies to complement after-death facilities/ services
  • Develop data-driven insights to support decision-making
  • Review and develop relevant policies and regulations related to after-death facilities/ services
  • Respond to feedback and enquiries with sensitivity and empathy
  • Adapt to changing priorities and taking on additional responsibilities as required

What we are looking for

Job Requirements:

  • At least 5 years’ working experience in planning, policy, or policy implementation related roles
  • Experience in development / construction project management, policy, or land-use planning and familiar with government procurement practice will be an advantage
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to conceptualise solutions
  • Strong inclination towards change management and/or transformation projects
  • Creative thinking with attention to detail
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills and enjoy working with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment and can manage multiple priorities and stakeholders at the same time. 
  • Self-driven and has a growth mindset
  • Able to handle sensitive matters with discretion and professionalism
