What the role is

Be part of Youth Corps Singapore! A division of the National Youth Council, Youth Corps Singapore (YCS) champions youth volunteerism nationwide in Singapore, empowering and supporting young Singaporeans to ignite positive change and make impactful difference in society. We are a national movement of young people with strong espirit de corps and service ethos, harnessing the optimism of young people, the passion of community partners and the transformative power of service learning to serve and build cohesive and inclusive communities. Join us to ignite positive change! YCS is seeking dynamic individuals to be part of the team to champion youth volunteerism in the Institutes of Higher Learning (IHL). The team builds the capabilities of youth leaders to design and lead impactful community service projects, curate meaningful volunteering experiences for their peers, ignite the spark for volunteerism in more youths, and grow the national youth volunteerism movement. The team also builds the larger Youth Corps Singapore eco-system and communities of practice, connecting youth leaders to networks and resources to sustain and create multipliers for their volunteerism efforts.

What you will be working on

Scope and responsibilities: You will be part of the Programme Architects (PA) team to do youth development work and deliver programmes for youths. We are looking for a staff to contribute to all the following areas that the PA team oversees or delivers: • Programmes Design and Coordination - Oversee the design and content creation for Youth Corps programmes, whichever includes programme administration, planning and conducting activities and events to engage youth, as well as introduce them to the larger Youth Corps ecosystem. The candidate should also be able to advise on the use of training theories and tools (e.g. simulations, facilitation, role-play, volunteering framework etc.) for Youth Corps training modules. • Training Programme Design, Coordination and Delivery – Develop, deliver and coordinate with training partners to design and implement skills development workshops aligned with Youth Corps objectives, for youths. • Programme and Training Evaluation - Provide and analyse evaluative feedback on the programme and training to assess the effectiveness, with the overall objective of equipping the youths with the necessary skills to create sustainable community impact and sustaining their volunteerism beyond the programme. • Evaluation Data Management - Manage the process of survey data collection and curate survey questions based on NYC key indicator outcomes. Guide team members in effective data collection and analysis practices. • School Partners Engagement - Support and provide consultation to the schools in their engagement with community partners, stakeholders, and key resources in the sector as support for their service projects. Identify learning needs in collaboration with IHL partners to design and coordinate training programmes tailored for youth development. • Community Partner Engagement - Collaborate with community partners to curate meaningful service opportunities suitable for youth volunteers that are impactful and sustainable in the community. • Project Consultation - Provide consultation and mentor the youths in the design and delivery of their service project to create sustainable and impactful community service projects, ensuring alignment with community needs.

What we are looking for

Requirements • Background and/or strong interest in community service, youth development, programme coordination, training and/or partners management • Experience in partnership management with Social Service Agencies and IHLs • Possess excellent communication and writing skills for development of training curriculum • Competent in designing, facilitating and delivering training programmes with interactive and effective learning activities • Ability to mentor and engage youth volunteers, including availability during weekday evenings and weekends • Ability to adapt well and thrive in a dynamic environment with attributes of proactiveness, resourcefulness, self-motivation, curiosity and learning agility • Team player with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to thrive in cross-functional teams within a dynamic environment • Relevant experiences will be advantageous: Manager (1 to 3 years)
