What the role is
You will work in the Private Waste Infrastructure Management Branch (PWIMB) under WIMD which oversees key stakeholders in the waste recycling and treatment industry for waste management facilities through agreements/contracts, including waste treatment facilities to recycle key waste streams or pilot new waste treatment and recycling technologies to validate policy decisions on future waste infrastructure, so as to minimise waste landfilled and contribute towards the vision of a Zero-Waste Nation and a circular economy.
What you will be working on
Your key responsibilities include:
Manage, oversee tenancy agreements and handle tenancy related matters for companies housed in Tuas South Recycling Park (TSRP), Sarimbun Recycling Park (SRP) and other designated premises
Oversee and maintain the common facilities in Tuas South Recycling Park (TSRP), Sarimbun Recycling Park (SRP), including preparation and calling of maintenance contracts
Monitor performance of recycling companies, evaluate reports and make recommendations for improvements
Plan, coordinate and implement new waste treatment technologies in support of incineration capabilities and to increase recycling rates
Manage projects related to containment and storage of municipal solid waste
Support the development of contracts for new private waste infrastructures to further reduce waste landfilled and extend Semakau Landfill’s lifespan
Any other waste infrastructure related projects assigned by WIMD
