Internship project: Developing Secure Mobile Apps and Researching Singapore's Mobile Threat Landscape

Intern, Cybersecurity Engineering Centre (CSEC)
Cyber Security Agency of Singapore
Internship
Closing on 18 May 2025
What the role is
What you will be working on
The intern will help to design, build, and test mobile applications in fast-paced sprint cycles. In addition to development work, you will dive deep and help map a comprehensive mobile threat landscape by identifying potential risks, analysing mobile attack vectors, and proposing preventive, detective, and corrective measures to safeguard Singapore’s digital ecosystem. This internship provides an excellent opportunity to apply what you’ve learned in school, gain hands-on experience in both mobile development and cybersecurity research, and contribute to the development of mobile app security best practices that will have a direct impact on developers in Singapore.
What we are looking for
- A basic understanding of mobile security and mobile app development and be eager to learn more about security considerations. While an interest in security is a plus, the focus will be on developing mobile apps that can later be enhanced with security measures and analysing mobile threats and attack vectors affecting Singapore's digital ecosystem.
- Experience with mobile app development on Android or iOS (is a plus).
- Familiarity with Git for version control and collaboration.
- Interest in security practices, or a willingness to learn about securing mobile apps and user data.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced team environment.
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset with the ability to contribute to the team’s goals and outcomes.
- General understanding of mobile cyber threats, including knowledge of common malware types and attack vectors targeting mobile apps and devices.
- Interns who can join from May 2025 onwards (3 months minimum commitment)
