What the role is

Internship project: AI x Security Capability Assessment and Development

What you will be working on

The intern will systematically evaluate and assess AI-related tools, frameworks, and technologies relevant to CSA's AI x Security workstreams, encompassing AI for Security, Security of AI, and AI-enabled Threats. This includes exploring emerging AI cybersecurity tools, establishing a testbed for open-source LLMs, and understanding emerging AI security challenges. Tasks that the intern will carry out: - Create an assessment of AI tools' capabilities and limitations, - Research best practices on incident response on AI models/systems Security of AI, - Set up and maintain a LLM testbed environment for testing open-source models (e.g., Deepseek, LLaMA), - Conduct preliminary security assessments of various LLMs, - Assist in developing best practices for secure AI deployment AI-enabled Threats, - Research and document publicly reported AI misuse cases and security incidents, - Compile and categorise different types of AI-enabled security challenges, - Support the team in developing awareness materials about AI security risks.

What we are looking for

• Bachelors Degree in: Data Science, Computer Science, Information Security, or related field eg. Applied Statistics • Others (e.g., professional qualifications) AWS Certified AI Practitioner, AWS Certified Machine Learning Engineer or related cloud service provider cloud or AI certifications and knowledge. • Agility in learning and applying knowledge practically on the ground. • Boldness in taking calculated risks to design/develop/implement cybersecurity-sound standards and solutions. • Collaborative attitude towards working strategically with peers for greater results. • Passion for AI, cybersecurity and the intersection of these two fields. • Interns who can join from May 2025 onwards (3 months minimum commitment).
