The Animal & Veterinary Service (AVS), a cluster of NParks, safeguards the health and welfare of animals through comprehensive and integrated programmes and works closely with partners in the veterinary and animal-related industries to strengthen capacities and enhance competencies in animal health and welfare. It is the main touch-point on animal and veterinary matters in Singapore and the first responder for all animal-related feedback. It also conducts public education and engagement programmes to foster a society where pet owners, communities, and animals co-exist in our City in Nature.

What the role is
What you will be working on
As part of your daily work, you will also be assisting with the branch’s operations, including the following:
- Assist with rehabilitation and oversee rehoming of animals from Centre for Animal Rehabilitation
- Monitoring animal’s progress in the rehabilitation journey to assess its readiness for rehoming
- Assist with enhancement and refinement of existing behavioural rehabilitation protocols
- Working with rehabilitation partners on the adoption of animals
- Liaising with and screening of potential adopters
- Facilitating paperwork for the animal’s adoption
- Providing pre- and post-adoption support
- Assist with record keeping and ad-hoc duties where required
What we are looking for
- Areas of studies in Veterinary Technology, Veterinary Bioscience or Biomedical Science or related discipline is preferred.
- Competent in handling, restraint and medication of common companion animal species, including but not limited to dogs, cats, small mammals and birds and limited species of wildlife.
- Positive attitude, meticulous, energetic, possess good communication and interpersonal skills, and passionate about animals.
- Independent and able to work effectively with others in a team environment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Required to work on weekends and public holidays based on roster.
- Competent in Microsoft Office Applications.
