What the role is

The Meteorological Service Singapore (MSS) is Singapore’s national authority on weather and climate. The International Relations and Outreach Department (IROD) manages the international cooperation and engages the public through strategic outreach and publicity efforts. We are seeking a creative professional to enhance our visual storytelling capabilities and strengthen public engagement on weather and climate science.

What you will be working on

As part of the IROD team, you will collaborate closely with divisions within MSS and the National Environment Agency to drive the publicity/marketing, communications, and event management efforts of MSS. Broadly, you will be responsible for the following areas:

  • Conceptualise and develop creative briefs, storyboards and visual narratives for video content
  • Produce end-to-end video content, including scripting, filming, directing and post-production editing with motion graphics and visual effects
  • Create multimedia materials, including infographics, newsletters, posters and promotional materials
  • Manage photography projects and curate stock image libraries to support ongoing publicity requirements
  • Ad hoc duties as assigned by MSS, which may include supporting outreach and engagement events, administrative duties, involvement in department’s projects etc. 

What we are looking for

The job might be for you if you possess the following:

  • Relevant qualification in media communications with 2-3 years of relevant experience in graphic design and video production
  • Familiar with video production and photography
  • Well-versed with Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects and Photoshop
  • Resourceful with an eye for detail and aesthetics
  • Good team player and able to work with various stakeholders
  • Able to multi-task well and possesses a sense of urgency
  • Additional skillset and experience with Blackmagic Design software would be advantageous
  • Please submit samples of past work, clearly stating the areas of your involvement (if the sample provided was a result of team effort).
